Up, down, sideways, no ways!

The World is So Big, The Stranger Life Has It's Ups!

Every single day time passes, people grow older. The lives of everyone around us are in constant flux. Good things take place and fortune smiles on many. Bad things take place, people suffer tremendous losses. Both good and bad coexist, together they produce harmony.

There is no mystery how loss in our lives, pain, suffering and aching hearts help us to appreciate the good when it comes our way. However, The duality of these states is something one can ponder deeply on. Why is it that for most people to appreciate good times it is almost a requirement to have gone through bad times? What are the causes of our definitions of what is considered a positive or negative? There are people that have altered their perception of these things, or maybe they were born with a tendency to perceive the world differently anyway. In either case, there more than just a few cases of people finding joy and satisfaction while enduring states that others would call suffering or think of as negative. In some cases it seems the individual finds that their own suffering benefits others and with that knowledge comes satisfaction, or even positive feelings or happiness. Is the satisfaction they find lasting or temporary? Are there other way to change our perceptions of these good and bad states in our lives? Opiate addicts seem to have found a way to escape the normality of cultures or at least ignore them. What use would life be and how much human life would there be left if we were all just dope heads? It seems there are more questions here than answers at least from this author's point of view.

I am no expert!

Mostly this is just food for hungry thought I guess. From one stranger living a strange life to another, I hope we all find a way to cope and make our lives and the lives of everyone around us better.
